“The Hazel” is located at 44 John Street (formerly 523 Canal Street) in the South End neighborhood of Stamford, CT. The Hazel is a 201,639 square foot, 7-story mixed-use project developed by Alpine Residential and Fields Grade Development. The design of 44 John Street is a collaboration of Newman Architects, the architect of record, and Wherewithal, the interior designer. There are numerous Juliet balconies on each elevation of the building, offering significant private outdoor space for residents. On the first floor, there is a state-of-the-art fitness space that is secure for flexible resident use. The third floor offers various amenities accessible to all residents, including a lounge space, game room, communal kitchen space, outdoor grilling stations, and an outdoor pool. The outdoor third floor amenities are complimented with impressive views of downtown Stamford.
